I recently attended the Shoppe Object home and gift show, and today, I'm sharing my top ten artisanal and sustainable finds from the market.

Many of these styles continue to draw inspiration from vintage and archival design, such as the Bohemia iron candle holders and Maadili table linens. I believe this trend will remain strong as consumers still crave the comfort of nostalgic pieces in their homes. What felt new and fresh were the bolder color palettes and unexpected color combinations seen in TBCo throws and Bohemia table linens. I was also especially drawn to more playful styles with personality, like Kiliim hand-painted ceramics, Coro Cora placemats, and TBCo pillow. These are perfect for your dose of dopamine decorating. Each brand is linked below via the images.

4 - Soil to Studio Block Print Table Linens

I've long admired Soil to Studio pillows, but the table linen wall really caught my eye this season. The colors and patterns were stunning. I would love to see these mixed and match together in one tablescape.

9 - TBCo Throws

I love the bold color combinations and that each throw is made from recycled wool and discarded fibers that would otherwise end up in a landfill.

And, shameless plug, I had several designs featured at Shoppe Object this season. It's always an honor to see my work exhibited and how excited buyers are about these styles.

While there were many beautiful products this season, there seemed to be less emphasis on sustainable and artisanal home decor—and home decor in general. The show leaned more toward small gifting products. That said, I still think Shoppe Object is a valuable platform for sustainable and artisanal brands, and I think there is a white space opportunity for bedroom and living space textiles (pillows, throws, bedding, rugs).

Thinking of exhibiting at Shoppe Object? Here are some tips I've given my clients, coming from a buyer's perspective:

-Engage with target and repeat buyers in advance of the show.

-Draw buyers in with bold design or color. Even if minimal styles or neutrals typically sell best, it's important to have statement pieces that create the "wow" factor.

-Design your booth to be both engaging and inviting, encouraging buyers to come in and browse.

-Make signage clear for buyers to quickly understand the most important aspects of your brand—whether it’s certifications like B Corp, WFTO, or Nest; a commitment to organic materials; or being a women-owned and operated business.

-Be present and engaged. I see so many booths where exhibitors are on their phones and disengaged. It’s crucial to make buyers feel welcome and to share your enthusiasm for the products.

-Ensure you have a well-designed catalog to share with buyers, including all the information they need to make purchasing decisions, along with high-quality photography.

If you’re preparing for an upcoming market, I’d love to help. With experience on both the buying and exhibitor sides, I offer tailored support, from designing new collections and curating for target buyers to booth design, catalog creation, and best practices for exhibiting. Don’t hesitate to reach out!
