Versa Vice by Tom Mackie / cabinet inspired by handbags, designed by Mathieu Gustafsson and Niklas Karlsson

I love when something catches my eye, and I start noticing a recurring theme as I conduct research and seek inspiration - enter orbs. My first encounter was with the artwork on the left, created by Tom Mackie. The intricate detailing on the frame felt fresh and unique. Following that, I came across the photo on the right, showcasing a cabinet inspired by handbags, designed by Mathieu Gustafsson and Niklas Karlsson. Something about this detailing exudes a blend of modern and vintage aesthetics.

Orbs feel like an evolution of a few different home furnishing trends - curves, scalloped edges, and totems. It's a versatile detail that can be interpreted in various forms and work in different design styles, depending on how and where it is used.

Here are a few more examples I'm loving and I will be updating my pinterest board as I come across more.
